In 🇺🇸, like most recent anime releases, Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle was watched significantly more in Japanese with English subtitles than dubbed, at a rate of 5:3. I'd argue this is due to DS growing the audience. For example, just 2 years ago, JJK 0 was watched 8:1 sub:dub.

You're not "anti-censorship" if you aren't actively appalled at a TV show being cancelled because the FCC is mad about a joke.

Frustrating to see all the censorship conversations on Twitter centered around a non-controversy instead of how *government action* is creating a chilling effect for anime and manga at multiple levels.

After spending 30 of the last 60 days on the Top 10 of Netflix Japan, the first two episodes of Fragrant Flower have been released globally, dubbed into 8 new languages. It only took one day of availability to make global top 10 for non-English shows for the week.

The American Manga Awards is great starting point in bringing recognition to all the folks working on the localization, ESPECIALLY freelancers. I truly believe there should be more awards & more spotlight on these folks.

I wonder if this is the right language to use for this. I really think "distributing bootlegged versions of this comic" is the right language. "Piracy" is not very specific and has some unearned cache.

Q: I don't see a lot of tall, thin speech bubbles in OP. Why?! Oda: I used them in the beginning, but when I saw how squished the text was in the Enlgish version, I decided to style my bubbles wider to make it easier for everyone to read, no matter the language.
