Most batch/bulk APIs could be just a keep alive connection. Unless there’s some sort of wrapping transaction involved, I don’t see the point. You just end up building a new request/response protocol on top of HTTP. What am I missing?

I made the decision to shut down my first ever product (stagecms.com) this year. It made a tiny little bit of revenue, but I never made it work as a business 🤷‍♂️ However, even 10 years after launching it, I still think most musician/band's websites are quite bad… but I guess nobody else cares 😄

Yesterday, I removed a NOT NULL constraint from one of the dimension columns of our message reporting table, to make things more flexible 💪 Last night, I noticed that the table had suddenly grown 600x, because I forgot to change the unique constraint for the table to use NULLS NOT DISTINCT 🙈

Something I pretty much consistently forget which I love about Ruby... exceptions are plain old objects that sometimes have useful state on them that can assist with debugging. (And you can define your own exceptions this way too!)
