It’s been quite a week - personally and institutionally. Theo says ‘hello’ to you all, and he hopes you’re doing ok! 👋😸

It is striking how many times, in different contexts and conversations, trauma has been mentioned at #Synod. Trauma theology is so, so needed - we must continue our work. We must make a way out of no way.

People aren’t asking for the world by expecting the leadership of the Church to live and move and speak and love a little more like Jesus rather than the forces that killed him.

Super excited to have my paper ‘Thy Kendom Come? Beginnings, Bodies, and Patriarchy in Barbie’ accepted for my first ever SST! Not only that, but I’m even more thrilled that I will be a postgraduate respondent for one of the keynote speakers. See you there? #SST25 #Kenough

Today, whilst I despair for the Church of England as it continues to shame itself for failing to keep people safe and hold itself to account, I have led a funeral for the family of a woman taken far too soon and visited a family in preparation for my very first baptism. The work of God continues.

It was significant to meet as Deanery Chapter today, as a Bradwell Area deanery in Chelmsford Diocese. Be assured we are praying: for survivors, for light to shine in the darkness, for truth and justice, for wisdom and clarity, for God’s radical Holy Spirit to move in the Church.
