In Donkey Kong 64, Diddy, Tiny, Lanky and Chunky are all unlocked by freeing them from cages. While DK appears to be unlocked by default, this is false: internally, the game only unlocks him by opening the door to exit DK Island. The entirety of DK Island is his personal cage.

Being able to do expansions out of order rules. Doing a little of one of the final expacs and it's wild seeing how much better FFXI gets at cutscene direction and character animation. PS2 had "aura" and "swag".

FFXI base game ending is so "nothing happened" that the first cutscene first expansion immediately retcons it by adding a bunch of characters and action on the sidelines you just "forgot". You can write anything.

Logged into FFXI last night and saw someone giving out inventory upgrades. He remained patient when swarmed by newbies. I dunno what the economy is like here - if he was giving away "a lot" or not - but I appreciate it. I hope the veterans are enjoying the new people coming to try their old game.
