I wish Cutie Honey Tennyo Densetsu was more accessible or available in English bc it features some surprisingly progressive queer representation that certainly makes up for the nonsense he wrote back in the 70's. 008 “Nightmare in Dreamland” Overhauling Rei’s personality for the anime was probably one of the best decisions they made. The dynamic between her and Usagi really gave the series so much more to work with. This is also the first episode from the GOAT Masahiro Andō (1/2)

006 “Time Bomb” Honestly a very forgettable episode… this is also the first episode that I’d say had noticeably poor animation. The Negamonster isn’t even a fun design. Mercury getting her tech is probably the only reason to consider this a “key” episode.

This is the only episode to use “Moon Tiara Vaporize”, also first insert song of the series: “I Wanna Be A Star”. It’s a tad forgettable compared to other songs in the series. Serena’s green dress is HIDEOUS, but I think the inspo for the Irwin Toy Rini doll…
