Can anyone give me the reason why, in England, the onus is not on the seller of a home to get a building survey. That way they and all potential buyers know any issues at time of sale and avoids multiple surveys being carried. Is there a big surveyor lobby I don't know about?

Successive governments have looked at this. Main policy options already well known. A(nother) review *might* help build consensus, but will do nothing to fund changes. And if alternative to existing Care Act suggested then needs new legislation needed = more delay.
