1. Today, 200,000 marched in Budapest Pride in defiance of a ban by Orbán's far-right government. It was led by the city's mayor Gergely Karácsony, who got around the law by making it an "official city gathering." He was warned of arrest. They marched anyway. Subscribe to support my journalism.
