I don’t shy away from criticizing government (in fact, I’ve made a career out of it!) - but the criticisms should be legit. The LA Ethics Commission does a great job at managing the public matching funds program and monitoring for fraud. Candidates who attack it without merit should be ashamed.

I spent 4 years as the Enforcement Director for the LA City Ethics Commission, & every election meant the audit team worked long hours verifying contributions for those seeking matching funds. They worked hard to safeguard public $ while also making sure candidates got their $.

Lost in yesterday's bad vibes was the great news that an L.A. Court ordered the city to move forward with Venice Dell. Here's a piece on what that means for affordable housing in L.A. and how great it is that two of the worst people in L.A. politics got handed a big L a week before election day.

But words cannot convey my DISGUST at the implication that public servants at the Ethics Commission hindered her campaign as Rev Rae implied. Whatever may come of these accusations regarding matching funds, her baseless attacks on City workers *alone* is disqualifying.

I literally helped the policy team for Rae and I am imploring people to vote for Nithya.

I’m really proud of the work I did on matching funds. It was only my second time ever doing matching funds for a campaign. And the last time was almost a decade ago.

Lying about matching funds massively risks the entire program for every other progressive to come. It does damage that’s hard to number. Attacking the ethics commission does the same work as some of the worst members of council. It’s hard to describe how infuriating watching all of this unfold is.

As of his last legal defense fund filing, Lee was in debt 10k to his own committee, had about 100k in legal debts and now owes 138k to the general fund of the city. So he’s in the hole to the tune of a quarter million. Be ethical guys. It’s that’s easy.

The city wants to turn the north half of one of the two main parks in Reseda in to a storm water capture park. This is the area where families meet to have parties with their families. Any given weekend multiple tents would be up. We were promised a splash pad. That’s not there.

My neighborhood council is on pace to offer red cards to every single service business in Reseda. Every restaurant, every mechanic, every beauty store, every grocery store, every gas station. And we did this within a week.

Megaevent organizers must be in full-out panic mode right about now. I see some reporting that "individuals whose entry serves U.S. national interests" includes special exceptions for World Cup and Olympic athletes but I can't imagine that also includes fans who want to travel here
