Amazing to see these results 🎉Many researchers did great work during the pandemic, despite major professional and personal challenges. And of course pleased to see that our paper led by Anni Sternisko was one of the successful replications.

Feelings of entitlement characterise not only individual but also collective narcissism (the latter being a belief that one’s country is exceptional and deserves privileged treatment).

Check out our new meta-analysis of psychological motives associated with conspiracy beliefs, forthcoming in Psych Bull! Highlights below by the amazing @mikeybiddlestone.bsky.social who led the project through it’s crazy long review process.

Our new paper led by @ealbath.bsky.social clarifies which psychological needs predict belief in conspiracy theories. Using RICPM we found that within-person decreases in personal control and belonging, but increases in levels of meaning in life, temporally precede increases in conspiracy belief.

Totally agree! And there’s also the issue of different reference cultures, which can harm international candidates. American letters are often seen as OTT and unrealistic in many European countries, while the more reserved letters from Europe might seem lukewarm in the US…
