It is a weird thing to need to say regularly, but I'm a result of the special education system in California. I got the support I needed from kindergarten through.. well, graduating high school. And, I received job training from the state after graduation. (they trained me to be a physicist).

In practice, moving IDEA to HHS signals its intended destruction at the federal level. In concept, moving IDEA to HHS signals that the administration regards education as only for "normal kids." #deafkids and other kids with disabilities are, at best, problems to be solved.
