I haven’t seen the movie, and this is pretty funny. But…maybe comic book artists should increase their page rates, band together, start a union or guild, or fight together in some other way so that this isn’t so far-fetched?

Today is the birthday of artist, writer, and teacher, Joe Kubert (Sept. 18, 1926-Aug. 12, 2012).

There’s a guy in England, a political figure, who shares a name with my friend who killed himself in 1998. I don’t follow the account here, but for some reason, most of his posts get recommended to me. It stops me every time. (Twitter used to recommend that I follow my deceased parents’ accounts.)

I really liked the Superman movie. From the trailers and stills, I wasn’t sure I would. But it’s pretty great. My boys both loved it.

Probably just about the perfect time to read this, I’d say.

I only have one piece of Superman original art, this page by the great Stuart Immonen and José Marzan Jr.

I’ve wanted Samnee on a Batman book for so long, but I didn’t start reading this series until I signed up for DC Unlimited Infinite. Here’s an “ordinary” page of Samnee doing his thing. No Batman in sight, but it still feels like a Batman book.

Signed up for Marvel Unlimited and DC Universe Infinite, the Big Two’s “streaming” services. DC offers the option to pay a little extra for access to comics one month after they are published, instead of waiting six months like Marvel. I also like seeing collected volumes gathered together. 👍🏻

Got a little extra cash and can’t decide between buying some comics or buying a new amp. This is after buying $160 of books and comics for my boys.

The comic book pros in my feed surely recognize this artist’s style. Does a casual comics reader? (I do. But I’m somewhere in the middle of those two poles.)
