Reading through this is both fascinating and horrifying. It's hard not to start feeling like working with React is like being in a relationship with a partner who's gonna blow up at you if you say things the wrong way or with the wrong tone of voice and expects you to read their mind.

Do you like a free tool? Send money. Do you use a tool at work? Convince your employer to sponsor it. Stop marketing OSS as free stuff to your employer, and treat it as a cost for the company. You only endanger the OSS project, if you don't give something in return.

Time to make a JS->C build pipeline for React? Being able to do your SSR and RSC handlers at native speed with native memory management would be absolutely *killer*. I'd love to build my servers in something other than JS

Q for
@leaflet.pub
friends: anything we could do that'd make you wanna write 10x more on leaflet? Or read 10x more or comment 10x more…not about the numbers ofc but things that'd make it much nicer (even for very niche cases!) to be a power user & have fun publishing & do cool community stuff etc

Apparently Fernando Pereira is donating to OpenReview (with a public announcement) because he cares about "open science" or "open research". News to me! He's the Google VP who wrote an anonymous "privileged and confidential" letter, sent to HR instructing us to retract our Stochastic Parrots paper.

the worst decision the leadership behind this app is taking rn is using all the money they collected to maintain this one app that clearly has reached its peak instead of financing new internal projects get a handful of devs working on new apps, see what sticks, you have the means, don't be cowards

Standing up firmly against racist bigotry is now being "heavily pro-censorship" and "discriminatory blocking practices"? A social political movement that preach freedom without really understanding historically social oppression and dynamics is just a farce that won't solve our real problems.

We found that the fix to address the DoS vulnerability in React Server Components (CVE-2025-55184) was incomplete and does not prevent an attack in a specific case. This is disclosed as CVE-2025-67779. New patches are available now, please update immediately.

All time I see people claiming to want a space "free of ideology" or that they are "pure neutral", it's because they are part of the current dominant ideology that benefits white cishet men (most of the time right wing too - but left and right perception can vary a lot between different countries)

It's so easy to not see ideology around you and the tech you use when you benefit from the dominant ideology, when you aren't part of a oppressed group by the said "no-ideology" space, when you don't take action to learn about historically oppressed people and how it affects our reality today
