Stuart Atwell has taken more points off United this season than Arsenal, City, Liverpool or Chelsea will... Fans, players and managers are all fed up with the inconsistency caused by weak referees and compounded by VAR backing on-pitch decisions over the right ones. Something has to change.

My biggest issue with VAR - if Atwell gives the second penalty, no chance it gets overturned. The determination for VAR to back the on-pitch decision means the correct outcome is secondary. The same challenge is simultaneously a penalty and not a penalty, which is clearly ridiculous.

Maguire's red card rules him out of the next three games, which with the current fixture frequency takes us to about 2028, I think.

Crazy the players didn't twig at any point to the fact that they weren't getting time on the ball. They tried to hold onto it, got caught out, gave it away cheaply, then did it again and again. Very slow to get the ball out wide, and the pass was never played ahead of the runner - all too static.
