Someone asked me how I form sensible opinions about current affairs. So here's an absolute beginner's guide to assessing news stories: 1. Ask: -who is telling me this? -how objective are they? -why are they telling me this? -why are they telling me this NOW? 2. Think 3. Think again. That's it.

Just saw the adaptation of Stephen King's The Long Walk. It was a really good film. A solid adaptation. There are some changes for book fans, but I get most of them. What really surprised me was the message of hope and love that shone through in such a dark movie. Well done.
