Berry ice cream in a jar Mix ingredients for your favorite frozen dessert in a wide-mouth, straight-sided jar. (I quartered my recipe to fit.) Leave 3 inches of space at the top. Put it in the freezer. Remove every 30 mins to stir until frozen (mine took 3 hours). Return to the freezer until firm.

🚨PSA🚨 Snapping off asparagus ends can waste 25 percent (or more!) of the spear. Look for skinny fresh stalks and trim about 1/4" off. I paid $6 for this bunch, so $1.50 could have gone uneaten had I snapped the ends. For thick stalks, peel the woody end part to reach the inner, tender part.

I visited a native plant nursery in Prince Edward County yesterday (dropseed.ca). Most of the plants were in paper containers, unlike mainstream nurseries that are filled with polluting plastic. (The plastic recycling rate is 9% worldwide.) There is a better way!
