Texas officials appeared to be almost entirely issuing vital emergency alerts about the deadly Kerr County flooding via Facebook and Twitter/X. Utter malpractice to restrict these alerts to social media platforms that huge numbers of people don’t use anymore.

As a new father, I cannot imagine what the parents of those missing and dead kids in Texas are going through. I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. And that’s precisely why we cannot afford political leaders who deny climate change and gut government services like disaster relief.
