The challenge for the new council and their "we are all on the same page" outlook was that it was always going to be challenged once they got to budget time. You can hear it in Rashovich saying EVERYONE ran on reducing taxes and Zachidniak pushing back on that not being the case.

This is the issue the cost conscious councillors have to grapple with. Cutting DEI saves you nickels on the dollar but if you want serious reduction of mill rate increase then you will need to deal with the police or capital budget.
