#WIPSnips I huddled in the furthest corner. I put my fingers on the mark on my face. It said 'ghost', I'd seen the reflection in a bowl of water earlier. I was really and truly dead now. All that was left to do was die.

#WIPSnips "Dear brother, you illness troubles me. I worry that you may soon succumb to your sadness. Wouldn't that be a tragedy so soon after our father's death." The threat wasn't subtle. Everyone in that room knew what he was saying. He meant to kill me soon.

#WIPSnips Since those days, my skills became more free and fluid. They spoke of a hard earned freedom. My blade cut like a vengeful sunbeam through my enemies. The Ghost would use his blade of light to cut out the darkness.

#WIPSnips A single beam of light. It could bring hope. For me it was a reminder that there was nothing left but darkness. Was there any hope for me? Or did my brother's betrayal permanently stamp it out? I reach out for the one thing that gave me peace.

#WIPSnips I had to remind myself that my pain was irrelevant. As long as they were hurting me, they wouldn't be hurting the prince. I would give them nothing. "You're tougher than I imagined, little bird." He said. "I would have expected your delicate bones to be crushed by now, but here we are."

#WIPSnips "I brought you wine," I said. I held the cup up near his lips. "Is there poison in that cup, Ān?" "Tomorrow, my uncle kills you. Save yourself some pain." He laughs. "So devious." "You never suspected the beautiful song bird of destroying you so completely. I destroyed us both."
