While I still prefer the domestic poster/cover art that we have, I feel this Japanese Blu-ray maybe has more of a finger on the actual spirit of Tom & Jerry. If the movie was released by a boutique studio it would be cool to include the Japanese art as an alternate image on a reversible insert.

A little birthday gift to myself just arrived in the mail, today. Happy to have finally completed my Jonny Quest collection. I now have all the television shows and films on DVD or Blu-ray (though I'm still not happy with that Cyber Insects transfer that Warner Archive released last year).

Yeesh.

Took a sick day off work today. Not feeling so hot. Gonna have to think of things to do to keep myself entertained...when I'm not sleeping, that is.

Celebrating Frank Robbins' birthday today! Robbins started working at DC in 1968 and had a notable run on Batman with artist Irv Novick. He wrote a story featuring Catwoman in Batman No.210 (1969).

Reading my Golden Age of DC book and learned that the Paradox Press Big Books were an homage to The Big Book of Fun Comics from 1935 which reprinted the first four issues of More Fun in their entirety. I was already a fan of those Paradox books but now I love them even more.

Picked up an early birthday gift for myself. $50 for the pair. It would be cooler if they had their dust jackets but I think I can live with it.

Today is the birthday of legendary artist, Gene Colan, who's probably best known for his work on Daredevil, Howard the Duck, and Tomb of Dracula where he co-created the character of Blade. He also has a large body of work for DC which includes some Catwoman back-ups in the pages of Detective Comics.

I think I may need to stop listening to fan podcasts. I've been listening to the bigger Alien podcasters this week since Alien: Earth came out and opinions are so conditional and nitpicky. Nobody just likes or dislikes anything anymore. It's the same with comics and other fandoms. It's exhausting.
