One thing that sucks playing at 2am or 8am is the fact that sometimes I just can’t perform well at those times. And it sucks even more when I get the chance to play with friends or ppl I know then fumble a tourney run. I kinda wish my performance was on par more consistently ngl.

Meta vs Off-Meta: We can look at weapon strengths objectively (usage/win rates etc.) or subjectively (feeling/experience etc.) and opinions will vary. But as a man of science, I believe in evidence and picking ‘top tiers’ just gives you a better chance at success and more opportunities to reach out.

Wdym? Clash Blaster is best weapon in Splatoon 3’s history. It has the same blast radius as Sblast but it fires twice as fast, can miss up to 4 times and still get a free kill. Also, it has splat bomb trizooka the god tier slayer kit. X+ tier broken weapon no cap, even better than Sblast.

Self-improvement note: I vod reviewed some of my recent gameplay and finally figured out the problem. Ever since ver 10.0 I’ve been trying to adapt to the trend of more ‘aggro’ support gameplay but now realised my preferred style is more disciplined and controlled rather than being explosive. (1/2)

Sad to say it’s my turn but I think I’ve hit a bottle neck for like the past year. I’ve tried changing my playstyle, my weapon. I practised in soloq, 8s, pickups (p much everything outside of a formal team) but nothing seems to help me surpass the ‘div 5 barrier’. It’s kinda demotivating ngl.

Splash vs Dualie (imo) Splash: +better paint and special output +burst bomb spam +less punishable +more gear freedom +better in TW and SZ Dualie: +better mobility specialised for fighting +stronger main weapon power +better in TC, RM and CB Both are equally strong and mostly interchangeable in comps

Anyways back to more takes: Splatoon is a difficult game (obviously), but in a sense of where its gameplay aspects are hard to understand. Factors like ‘speed’, ‘angles’, ‘space’, ‘movement’ etc and their impacts are hard to assess quantitatively. And that’s not even getting into mechanical barriers

I applied to join orcas (a mid-high level pickup server for the OCE region) 3 separate times over the course of a year and every time it was rejected due to lack of results.(1/5)

To the people who don’t want to use X rank as practice bc of ‘bad teammates’, yes we all get them, that’s how solo cue works, and tbh it’s a better ranking system than whatever ‘divs’ are.

Jokes aside, I think this is good evidence of why good gameflow logic and fast decision making makes k/ds irrelevant.

My comments on Punchy’s section (splash): I think Punchy did a very good job at elaborating on not just splash, but most support shooters’ gameflow logic and priorities. To create openings with subs and specials and contest map control. Fully utilising the strengths of good paint and mobility. (1/2)

My view on 'Teamwork': Teamwork in the context of a team game is not about equality but rather a distribution of workload based on strengths and weaknesses. I think it's important to keep this in mind while playing/vod reviewing since I see many players trying to cover every base at once.

My opinion on some relevant supports and specials rn. Zones only, tiers unordered. If a weapon is not on the list, then it's either outclassed or I don't regard it as a support. Lmk you thoughts as well! (Kinda rusty since I just came back)
