Cooler weapons in the current meta: One good thing that the 11.0 changes did that I don’t see ppl talk about is that it made a lot of cooler weapons more viable. (8/9 to be exact, rip H3) Pencil is still on top, but this allows for more interesting comp building and other anchors to be picked.

My thoughts on divs: Divs are just a label TOs put on us for their convenience, not much else. That being said I hope some self proclaimed ‘mid-level’ players don’t quit the game when they get div5+ and realise they can’t win low ink. /sarc (Imma shoot myself if I somehow get div7 for a third time)

Every time I play zap for liter and proceed to win:

FULL WEAPON HITBOX CHANGE LIST THREAD (WIP) 10.1.0 -> 11.0.0 from leanny.github.io/splat3/param... The numbers will be the "attack collission radii" and shows the difference between each shots hitbox size in distance units. All collission with stage terrain remains the same as 10.1.0.

11.0 Day 1 thoughts: Note: I mostly played vsplash (my main) and vblaster (for fun) -Dynamo is real -Blasters aoe are actually cancer (every blaster got a indirect radius buff) -Flow aura is a slayer-only thing unless you have a special with multi-kill potential -Hurtbox reduction not noticeable 1/2

Bringing this up again: X rank will always be the most objective and unbiased mode of practice. We can choose when to play, what weapon we use, what map/mode we want etc. The only thing stopping us from doing it is literally our ego, and the pain of shattering it in the realisation of a truth.

One thing that sucks playing at 2am or 8am is the fact that sometimes I just can’t perform well at those times. And it sucks even more when I get the chance to play with friends or ppl I know then fumble a tourney run. I kinda wish my performance was on par more consistently ngl.

Meta vs Off-Meta: We can look at weapon strengths objectively (usage/win rates etc.) or subjectively (feeling/experience etc.) and opinions will vary. But as a man of science, I believe in evidence and picking ‘top tiers’ just gives you a better chance at success and more opportunities to reach out.

Wdym? Clash Blaster is best weapon in Splatoon 3’s history. It has the same blast radius as Sblast but it fires twice as fast, can miss up to 4 times and still get a free kill. Also, it has splat bomb trizooka the god tier slayer kit. X+ tier broken weapon no cap, even better than Sblast.

I have a small hunch that the big N would release a huge update mid-January with 30 more 3rd kits and a new map to celebrate. Just a hunch.

Self-improvement note: I vod reviewed some of my recent gameplay and finally figured out the problem. Ever since ver 10.0 I’ve been trying to adapt to the trend of more ‘aggro’ support gameplay but now realised my preferred style is more disciplined and controlled rather than being explosive. (1/2)

That being said, when the going gets tough, the tough gets going! A new year to strive for a better me. I really like playing this game and the grind never stops (unless reality calls). Hopefully one day I get to win and finally get on the podium. Happy New Year, Everyone!

Sad to say it’s my turn but I think I’ve hit a bottle neck for like the past year. I’ve tried changing my playstyle, my weapon. I practised in soloq, 8s, pickups (p much everything outside of a formal team) but nothing seems to help me surpass the ‘div 5 barrier’. It’s kinda demotivating ngl.

Splash vs Dualie (imo) Splash: +better paint and special output +burst bomb spam +less punishable +more gear freedom +better in TW and SZ Dualie: +better mobility specialised for fighting +stronger main weapon power +better in TC, RM and CB Both are equally strong and mostly interchangeable in comps

Anyways back to more takes: Splatoon is a difficult game (obviously), but in a sense of where its gameplay aspects are hard to understand. Factors like ‘speed’, ‘angles’, ‘space’, ‘movement’ etc and their impacts are hard to assess quantitatively. And that’s not even getting into mechanical barriers
