This is the image. It's fine to draw trans women as legibly women because we are women. It is subversive to draw trans women like this because most depictions of trans women intentionally exaggerate 'innate' masculine features with an 'artifice' of femininity, denying transition's efficacy.

The treatment of trans women in prisons is so exceptionally bad in this country that the standard for unconstitutional neglect of prisoners was set by a supreme court case by a trans woman treated so horrifically by the prisons that even in 1994, a right-wing supreme court ruled in her favor.

This is something I am thinking a lot about before beginning a gender studies MA and it really makes me want to be as well-read as those I follow here
