My recently published and co-edited book on #Migration (part of @dvpwtheoriesektion.bsky.social series) is in German, so here’s a brief introduction in English with focus on my chapter 1/3🧵

Starting the day with terrific news: my paper with Sergi Martínez (EAFIT) and Ethan vanderWilden (U of Wisconsin) on far-right normalization and discounting of their extreme positions has been conditionally accepted at Political Science Research and Methods (PSRM). I believe it's very timely.

An informative article (in German) examines why EU countries declare a 'state of emergency' on asylum (with data on arrivals). I shared insights on how this narrative is a tool for radical right parties: in power, to push legal boundaries; out of power, to fuel fears and demand drastic measures.

Not just fun, but surprisingly useful, b/c it can help to make your local graph a bit more complete. The second setting in particular helped me to find people/institutions without a large following (yet), whom I know from elsewhere.
