It was a great @sgj.bsky.social’s event last night. This one in celebration of The Earthdivers Omnibus. Wonderful conversation and a lot of great insight on the comic book process. Always fun spending the evening at a Stephen Graham Jones book event.

Story acceptance! My story “Nightmare Abduction” has been accepted for BHP’s Patreon and their Year Seven anthology. It will release on Patreon in the coming months and early next year in the anthology.

I really enjoy a good sci-fi/horror mash-up and Mason Coile’s upcoming “Exhiles” is just that. If you’re ready to bring the scares to Mars, pick this one up in September!

I recently rewatched a favorite movie of mine. I’m a sucker for a good coming-of-age story and this one from 2013 doesn’t disappoint. It has some humor, a bit of a romance, and strained family dynamics. The cast is great. Worth a watch if you haven’t seen it and a good summer film.

First read of the year was a good one! If you like thriller/suspense novels, pick this up on January 28th. I loved the premise. Poe is a great protagonist and squares off against one creepy villain. Carter delivers another twisty plot that keeps you turning pages late into the night.

I started being regularly published when I was 25. I didn't make my first dollar writing until I was 30. I didn't sell my first novel or screenplay until I was 35. Many of you hadn't even heard of anything I'd written until I was over 40. You have time. There is no expiration date on writers.
