On the other hand, I find it awkward that some people take away Octavia’s heartbreak at her father’s perceived betrayal and deception as proof that maybe Stella was an okay mom by comparison. Octavia didn’t really feel anything for her own mother at all. A negative plus zero is still a negative.

You know what I can see happening? Octavia finding out the truth and confronts her mom about it...and Stella's "mask" completely cracks. At one point Via would be angry and call her mother a monster and she'd be like: "And you chose the monster over the only person who ever loved you." DAMN. 😔
