Huh. I did something which made my system load go up to 140 and filled 32gb of ram and 8gb of swap. Desktop wasn't responsive at all, but I could ssh in from another system and ran top and killed some stuff. I expected to have to reboot, but it all just sorted itself out. Good job, modern Linux!

Obviously, kids doing their homework with AI has no educational value. On the other hand, it's been pretty well shown that most homework has no educational value, at least before high school. Maybe some good can come out of this.
