Keeping a heritage train shed roof that prevents electrification is as absurd as having a heritage grass runway that prevents use by modern aircraft. The union station train shed should be removed in short order to allow for clean electric trains to service Toronto.

Hot take (but not hot with transpo geeks who've argued similar) the current historically designated low & meh train shed that also hinders modernization of service, should be torn down and a proper vaulted / arched train shed (let's think Milano Centrale, why not) should be built there.

This Edmonton speeding study is consistent with data from Calgary showing per capita traffic fatalities have increased markedly since photo radar was restricted by the province in 2022 - Calgary went from being safer than Toronto to notably worse. Reckless speeding kills.

Can we all finally agree that the supply of housing is a huge determinant of its price? Anyone who blames speculators or landlords needs to explain how these are someone more present in Halifax or Toronto than in Calgary, Montreal or Edmonton. Time to reduce zoning & tax barriers to new housing!

We need to allow higher and larger single stair buildings in Canada. Due to misplaced fire safety concerns, Canadian building codes are falling behind not only Europe but now also the US. Letting people build homes with single stairs unlocks density with nicer, cheaper, family-friendly homes.
