You can tell our society is really broken, because it should be the case that shitty, selfish behavior is punished, and cooperation is rewarded, because the latter is so more effective at getting things done, especially at scale. But it’s not. Assholes are regularly rewarded and frequently revered.

Here is a photo of my cats. Kate (the torbie cat) was tolerating Audrey (the black cat) for a little while. Audrey loves Kate more than anything, except maybe churu, and Kate very much does not return the sentiment. But sometimes it’s chilly and she’s sleepy, so she’ll let Audrey sneak in a cuddle.
