Just got off a call with Dem leadership in the House 1. There are over 20 republicans that are soft on the Budget Monstrosity 2. They will get a ton of pressure to vote for it 3. We can create even more pressure to vote against it, but it will take all of us 4. We only need 4 flips.

LA authorities are able to access law enforcement assistance at a moment’s notice. We are in close coordination with the city and county, and there is currently no unmet need. The Guard has been admirably serving LA throughout recovery. This is the wrong mission and will erode public trust.

The federal government is moving to take over the California National Guard and deploy 2,000 soldiers. That move is purposefully inflammatory and will only escalate tensions.
