A wintry-mix Sunday morning in Kimberly Plaza in the Bronx. We had warm & meaningful convos with hundreds of neighbors. Some are vulnerable & need immediate help. All are outraged this is happening in the greatest city in the world where we have become great BECAUSE of immigrants.

Five days ago, an ICE agent shoved a woman asking questions about the detention of her husband. Today they attacked two journalists. We cannot accept or normalize what has now become routine violence at 26 Federal Plaza. It has no place in our city.

Then they said "If you talk to anyone we will arrest you." So, me and all the other court watchers sat in almost complete silence from ~9:30am until 11:00am when all the ICE agents suddenly got up and left.

"Though advocates say courthouse arrests have once again picked up again in the weeks since Labor Day." I can second this. They have also recently deemed it illegal for anyone to talk to people coming for their court hearings, even in the hallways and waiting rooms.
