Once again, Akos is quicker than I am. To polysaccharide afficionados: EcpK, a BY pseudokinase facilitates exopolysaccharide synthesis by direct interaction with its PCP partner. We speculate that EcpK stimulates PCP by binding/unbinding cycles rather than phosphorylation/dephosphorylation cycles.

Super nice work from Simon Schäper showing that septal peptidoglycan synthases in S. aureus are not driven by FtsZ treadmilling. Instead they follow a one track model and their processive movement is dependent on peptidoglycan synthesis. www.nature.com/articles/s41...
