It was a fun challenge to incorporate world music into the 8-bit soundtrack for my #RPG. For example, in the Panama Canal sequence, I made a track that combined Panamanian dance music with JRPG battle music tropes. I thought it turned out pretty well! #indiedev

It's true! The Atlas gave me a sense of direction while I retained to ability to basically go anywhere.

"But Chris, Geo Mythica is open-ish, and I like #JRPGs but not open world games!" Never fear! The in-game Atlas lists all locations in recommended order along with a checklist of things to find. It may be open-ish, but it's not "sprawling" per se. #indiedev

GEO MYTHICA is an NES style RPG set in a fantasy 90s where you explore the real world, visit gift shops, and beat up monsters in action RPG battles. I actually bought it already and I'm partway through. @guinentertainment.bsky.social has made a really nice game, and I'm glad I found Next Fest!
