In last´s weeks SFB 1381 Mini Symposium “Mass Spectrometric Analysis of Dynamic Protein Machineries”, experts in the field (Florian Stengel, Ilka Wittig, Fabian Frommelt) shared their recent scientific findings, sparking stimulating discussions, which were continued in a lively poster session.

Congratulations 🎉 to our project A01 for their latest publication: The team of our SFB 1381 PI Sonja Albers identified the archaellum machinery in several bacterial strains and solved the structure of the bacterial archaellum from Litorilinea aerophila using cryoEM.

Artificial intelligence holds great potential for research—but how can it be used most effectively? To explore this question, our SFB organized a workshop lately, led by our PI Viviane Timmermann. Participants left inspired and equipped with new strategies to integrate AI into their research!

From May 5–8, 2025, the Cryo EM facility of #unifreiburg hosted an introductory workshop supported by SFB 1381 to learn how to access and use this cutting-edge technology. Hands-on sessions covered everything from sample prep to data analysis. Big thanks to the facility!
