Note that all of Nevison's comments are essentially "yea the vaccines aren't likely to have helped" but does not show any data to support that claim. "Logically". This is absolutely terrible. Just a complete inability to understand virology, immunology, and epidemiology. #acip

I thought the last ACIP meeting was bad, but..... Nevison asks, really, what is better, vaccines or no vaccines? The fact that these slides focus on things like safe sex, needle exchange etc. is not surprising- it mirrors the view of antivax that babies aren't drug uses or sexually active. #acip

What Pebsworth is intentionally trying to do is over-inflate concerns about HBV vaccines from polls and surveys, especially from areas that have higher rates of vaccine objections than other places. And now we turn to anti-vax climate scientist Nevison to present data. #acip

Prevelance rate for HBV from her slides show that USA has lowest prev. rate. Trying to paint universal dose as an outlier vs. Romania Poland etc. Cherry picking at it's finest. She would fail my vaccines course with these slides.

Pebsworth slides are terrible. Change logic for the the 2005 recommendation says it was done to provide a safety net for "medical errors". Following #ACIP - apparently, ACIP combined the immunization schedule and hepatitis B workgroups - a change not reflected in the ACIP workgroup list, and it was chaired by Dr. Vicki Pebsworth, a director in an anti-vaccine organization, the National Vaccine Information Center.

"It's been so long since we've reviewed it" Does she think that we just don't have safety monitoring of these vaccines? Are we just not labeling graphs now? Just lines and numbers? #acip (Are these slides online, I couldn't find them but I could be a dummy)

Pebsworth already moving the goalposts about HBV vaccines given to infants with HBV test negative mothers. Ignores mothers not tested, mothers who acquire HBV after testing, any other exposure to HBV. #acip

The cognitive dissonance in this administration, the CDC, FDA etc. is striking. Vaccines and acetaminophen have extensive safety data demonstrating that they are safe. These have extensive data demonstrating effectiveness. But they are targets because of grifters who want $ and women to suffer. 1/2

This is the most anti-science thing I have watched today. What is most shocking about this is all of these statements are being made without any scientific evidence to back it up. There are very few safe options to treat pain and fever in pregnancy so this is also an attack on women's health.

Here are #acip beliefs: recommendations are based on low quality data, cannot detect vaccine injuries etc. Literally had a presentation about a safety signal from the vaccine safety systems. This "ample" published research has been retracted, published in low quality journals, or is anecdotal.

I don't know how one gets to the point of their career where this is what they believe. The need to sow distrust, inspire fear, and cosplay as vaccine experts is unbelievable to me. #acip
