I saw someone say today “I don’t want to live in a country where our disputes are decided by bullets and blood”, and I fought every urge to ask what country they thought they’d been living in. Violence is how the US settles everything. We need to see that if we’re gonna do something different.

There are only two times in American history that Republicans have wanted to ban guns, and neither time was it about safety. It was to make sure that Black and trans people had no way to legally defend themselves against state violence.
