On Friday 19th June, P6 pupils @missbeattie-dps.bsky.social will be hosting a range of stalls and activities including colouring sheets, temporary tattoos and Beat the Goalie. Prices will range from 10p-£1.50. If your child would like to participate, please bring only loose change. Thank you!

Although it was very wet, we really enjoyed taking part in Scoot and Skate during Daily Mile. It was especially lovely to see everyone looking out for one another on the way round the track! #DPSHealthWeek

We’ve been able to take part in lots of activities so far during #DPSHealthWeek. On Tuesday we had some football practise with coaches from Bo’ness United. It was great to see all of the pupils joining in and working together! #Teamwork #Exercise #Healthy

We successfully made fraction dice and used these to play a game with a partner! We worked on identifying fractions and saying the correct name while trying to get four shapes in a row! Great work everyone 👏 #WorkingTogether #LearningTogether

We have been extending our knowledge of the art elements and focused on line and colour to create pictures inspired by Piet Mondrian’s recognisable style of artwork. There was such great focus and concentration from the pupils. Well done! I can’t wait to display these in the classroom 🖼️

On Monday, we used the @connectedfalk.bsky.social iPads to practise researching on the internet. We identified key words in the questions to ensure our search results were accurate and informative. We all learned something new! #Technologies #WorkingTogether

We were curious about how the heart works and why our heart rate goes up. This afternoon, we checked our pulse after five different exercises to find out what made our heart rate increase the most! #IDL #Comparing #Numeracy #HumanBody

As we bring our Human Body topic to an end, we learned some real life skills including what to do in an emergency and how to put someone in the recovery position. A big thank you to Mrs Sneddon for coming to talk to us about your role as a First Aider at Deanburn and how you help everyone!

We also tried making our own paper aeroplanes (although it wasn’t the best day to test them! 💨 ☔️). Next week we are going to compare which design for a paper aeroplane is most effective! #BritishScienceWeek2026

On Tuesday of #DPSBookWeek2026 we were lucky enough to be visited by author and illustrator Helen Kellock who gave us tips for our own drawings and stories. Such an engaging activity during book week! ✍️ 📖

Today in writing we were describing a Scottish setting. Together we brainstormed some good describing words and phrases. Afterwards we enjoyed looking at each other’s work and checking if we had remembered to include all the key features (punctuation, connectives and adjectives). ✍️ 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

The statue of Ramesses inside the newly opened Grand Egyptian Museum. We are so excited this museum has opened while we have been learning about Ancient Egypt!

Some of our #IDL work today involved learning about Moses. We had to sequence the story correctly. This afternoon, we learned about Ramesses the Great and began creating Egyptian collars from paper plates. We’re going to do a fashion show tomorrow 😃
