Then we took our procession on tour around the school to show off our dragon, lanterns and Chinese writing. We sang and played instruments for our friends before finishing the afternoon by tasting Chinese crackers and receiving Lucky Money packets. Kung Hei Fat Choi!

It was great to see so many families attending our Book & Biscuit event. Free Bookbug bags were eagerly explored and new stories were shared before voting for favourite books. We hope you continue to have fun trying out all the other activities together too.

We also enjoyed crunching the leaves under our feet and throwing them up for the wind to catch. What a lovely autumn day!

When we visited a sweet chestnut tree, we studied its leaves and bark. Then we sang a song to the tree before gathering lots of chestnuts to take back to school.

Spotting signs of autumn on our class walk was fun. We noticed the wind and the clouds. We even spotted lots of apples growing on someone’s apple tree in their garden.

We were excited to see how many apples were growing on the high branches and curious about what had made the holes in the apples on the ground.

We gazed at the solitary sunflower and wondered if the wee stone bird had been trying to peck the berries under the water in his birdbath.

We had a marvellous visit to the school orchard recently. The children were astonished at the brightness of the red berries on the rowan trees and they were amazed to see how plump the blackberries were.
