Today we worked in small groups and completed the research on our chosen ‘significant Scot’. We then wrote fact files all about them. I think all pupils really enjoyed their writing lesson today! Well done to our star writers 🤩 #focused #workingtogether #literacy

Yesterday we had a really good morning taking part in a drama workshop all about our trip to @kinneil.bsky.social We are looking forward to sharing our learning with you in February. @missmason.bsky.social

This afternoon during our IDL time we extended our knowledge of #ScotsLanguage and then created word clouds with common Scots words. So impressed with what you created! #IDL #Technologies @connectedfalk.bsky.social

We spent a wonderful morning at Kinneil House exploring, learning about stone masonry and recreating some of the animals from the wall murals using oil pastels. Thank you so much to @kinneil.bsky.social for opening up especially for us - we felt like VIPs! @missmason-dps.bsky.social has photos too.

Today we used a range of numeracy skills and strategies to try to ‘escape the room’ by cracking the 8 digit code. It was trickier than we thought! Super effort all round 👏

This morning we enjoyed a visit from Mrs Patterson @bonessacademy.bsky.social and some pupils who read us a lovely Christmas story. We listened really well and could tell them all about what happened in the story.

This week in writing we created our own Christmas characters and wrote fantastic descriptions of them. It was fun guessing which description matched which picture. Well done to our star writers! ⭐ ✍️

Yesterday was lots of fun - Christmas jumper day in for @savethechildren.org and Christmas lunch. We also are all start pupils for our amazing nativity performance.

Lots to celebrate (and last weeks star writers)… This week’s writing was inspired by a certain supermarket’s Christmas advert. We wrote great descriptions of giants - some were friendlier than others! Our star writers from today will be announced on Monday by @missmason-dps.bsky.social

Over the past few weeks we have been enjoying some ‘Mindul Moments’ allowing our busy minds to reset and bodies to slow down. This can be particularly useful at this time of year. Today we practised balloon breathing which most of us found very calming 😌 #DoBeMindful

This week we have been learning how to round numbers to the nearest 10. We used our ‘show me boards’ to demonstrate our understanding and enjoyed a ‘reveal the picture’ end task too. Ask me the rhyme we learned to help us remember (5 to 9 climb the vine, 1 to 4 hit the floor). #ActiveLearning
