I went to bed at midnight (late!!), woke up at 4:30, went back to sleep after 6, woke up at 9. Now I’m trying to enjoy some deck time before it is too hot but it is already toasty out. This might be a short stay.

Today is feeling much like a Monday for some reason. I am thankful I am working from home today because I think there will be a need for lots of coffee.

I watched Canada’s men’s team win against South Africa which was amazing. However, my heart aches for the South African team.

Years ago I bought a Sodastream because I love fizzy water. Now it is my go-to for ‘fancy’ summer beverages. Tonight it is fizzy water and mango juice. (It doesn’t take much for me to feel fancy, I know.) #TGIF

My brother volunteers with them every other Saturday. He delivers downtown because he is a 'bigger guy' who is not easily intimidated (nor is he intimidating). He loves his route. But last Saturday they asked if he could add a new route (still downtown/Central Park) as they were short drivers.

I’m not a cake person. However, nostalgia won when I saw this on sale. We rarely had this cake when I was little because it was fancy and expensive (or so I thought). Also, my mum was an amazing baker. But I gave in and purchased one for ‘old time’s sake.’ Hopefully it’s as good as I remember it.

I’m thinking about getting a rain drum for my yard this summer. Does anyone have one and care to share any suggestions of where to get one?

I listened to this podcast this morning as I got ready for the day. It filled my heart and lifted my spirit. It also reminded me of how small each of us is and how much we need each other.

Dr. Balacko was a friend of our family for many years. He was my parents' trusted pharmacist. My dad (who passed in 2004) always spoke highly of Bill. As a fellow small business owner, my dad valued people who gave back to their community.

I also want to be clear that I have voted in every possible election I can since I've been 18 years old and the process has never taken me longer than 5 minutes. So, it's perfectly legal to do, it doesn't add any time, and if it keeps you safe, it's worth doing!
