I am begging parents; please teach your children to travel around independently whether that's taking busses, driving the car, riding a bike, or grabbing a cab. Raising them to depend on you to go anywhere can lay the groundwork for abusive partners to control their movements later.

I had a young employee ask me for advice on a specific topic and I thought I would share. Do not share specifics about your personal time. "Sorry, I'm not available" full stop. "I need to use a sick day" full stop. "I would like to use my holidays on (dates)" full stop. It's not a negotiation.

I worked 70ish hours last week to ensure that every aspect of last fiscal year's financials were immaculate for review with the board today. Once they approve, I can submit everything to the Government. They're not due for a while, but I accommodate the board's schedule. Guess who cancelled? 🤣

We need to clean up the unused bottles behind the bar so I have decided to have a themed BBQ: WE CHOOSE BOOZE WE DON'T USE! We're going to make creative cocktails with those untouched bottles, and encourage guests to do the same. Everyone clears out the old, and we all vote on tastiest cocktail!

👏 I actually have some empathy for men who think this way because if they don't know the impact, they might think it's a matter of personal preference. This is a pretty good breakdown.

Community facebook drama: A while back, a woman in my community facebook group made a post encouraging people to attend a community meeting and mentioned her concern about how frequently she sees cars running red lights outside of a local school. I knew how that was going to go down. 🧵

Every now and then, I go on facebook and get a reminder that it's a dead friend's birthday. I had one today so I scrolled through his page, depressed that in the end, this is what he's reduced to; a page of people giving shout outs, or using the space to draw attention to themselves. How awful.
