Still baffled at why someone would program something that uses 286 only opcodes, only for those opcodes to be just a shortcut for a longer string of them, meaning that with minimum effort it could run on an 8086. But no, they just had to have immediate shifts and popall. What a strange thing to do

I have a question for translators: If a speaker in a government setting makes a verbal gaffe, do you have to translate the gaffe? For instance: "nothing bad can happen, it can only good happen" Do they have to translate it so that it reads just as wrongly in their target language?

Man, I loved everything about the production design of Cool World, the sets, the animation, the whole vibe it had. I would love to see another film that uses the same style as it, "walk-in painting" sets and all.

Today's engine work: Changing all the fopen calls to a special fopen I wrote that first checks the localisation folder for assets to override global ones. Now changing language is as simple as putting assets in a new folder and calling the engine with its name. Building for translation!

Today's engine breakthrough, if it can be called that: Increasing the timer from 150hz to 300hz made the mouse responsive enough, and also lets me do things in 150hz (PC speaker driver, 50hz (the adlib music driver) and 60hz (cga retrace). Interesting.

I love Anastasia, it's such a ridiculously pro-imperialist fluff piece. The musical numbers are great, though.
