So I respect what Ezra Klein is trying to do with his podcast. But I don’t think having a diverse guest list is enough. But what is? How do we do democratic politics in such a profoundly fractured environment? That is the media Q I would really like the answer to.

But most of all it made me feel how profoundly polarized our info and ideas environment is. It seemed like there was simply no meaningful communication happening btw Klein and Gurri, and certainly none btw Gurri and myself. And it is almost certainly going to get worse.

And that the closure of USAID is perfectly legal, and other nonsense. I suppose the interview is useful in revealing what elites on the right are thinking. It certainly demonstrates how profoundly successful Trump’s efforts to claim the mantle of free speech have been (which is... incredible)

In the interview Klein says a number of interesting things. But Gurri says nothing that made me question any of my priors. Instead he appears to live in a completely diff universe in which he can confidently proclaim, in the good year of our lord 2025, that Donald Trump is a champion of free speech
