I have so many sketches that are 80-90% done & just abandoned without finishing. Might start revisiting them to get into the practice of finishing things.

Electric eels are not real eels but they look cool. Challenging myself to finish things (or at least studies) within 1 iPad charge which is a little over 2 hours.

Contemplating getting back into watching older cinema via library card. If anyone has any good recommendations I am open to giving them a try. Currently indecisive between exploring for something that have never seen before or rewatching Ugetsu.

Schedule I set out for myself mostly flew out the window today, but then again yesterday spent 7 hours crying, went to sleep 2 hours earlier than usual & ended up waking 3 hours later than usual today. In better news: made empanadas & they came out excellent!

Manifesting it that this June I would like to got to Pride. No clue about logistics at this point but it's something that wanted to be a part of for the longest time but never had the chance (first time not living with overly religious family).

Been updating Cara with art after more than a year of neglect: cara.app/matchacrow Have 3 lineworks that are 90% done & a few more projects in progress but waiting for iPad to charge to access them...

Slightly upset that am like, brushtrokes away from finishing a painting & iPad is at 1% so have to pause while it charges. Need to look at elapsed time in procreate to get a measure of how long a charge lasts but I think it's 2 hours? Nearly finished the whole thing in one go.

I once told a student they should write for the person who inspired them to do the work, not the objectionable person they were centring in their thought and hoping to defeat. It gave them such a clarity of purpose that was incredible to see. Let your purpose guide you, and this will come to pass.

A couple minutes from finishing a painting & iPad ran out of battery. Need to wait for it to charge before able to continue & then work on other fun stuff because it's the weekend.

Tonight is baking brownies & watching "As Told By Ginger" night. Haven't seen the show since was a preteen so mostly no clue what awaits other than fever dream memories involving jars of nail clippings and stealth bartering for shaving razors.

One of my main goals currently is getting better at interpersonal communication and reconnecting with others. Past few years were spent hiding in shame or retreating to appease people in my life who wanted to monopolize my attention. I don't want that to be the case anymore. It stops now.

It's crazy that people value diamonds harvested by child slaves when we have invented a cruelty-free solution through science. Why does it need to be real? To get a real diamond is to admit that the cruelty is what gives it value, and you desire status over humanity.

Been up since 6:30am & didn't have breakfast or food yet. Finally done with some errands that needed to get done and I am starving!

If you don't have client work to show make your own projects & treat it like client work. What do you want to be hired for? Want to do book covers but are bad at titles (typo) then just do the illustration, don't slap bad typo on it. A few great pieces are better than a lot of okay once. Be picky.
