Happy April Fool's Day (the movie)! It's the only thing worth celebrating on this obnoxious holiday, so for Dread I wrote about why, forty years later, it's still one of the genre's cleverest slashers.

1000 Women in Horror is a must-see. A group of talented women talking from a deep well of passion and knowledge about women in the genre, how they're portrayed in horror, etc, and it is a delight. Thrilled for @horrornonna.com and all those involved with this incredible achievement.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day

Still kind of feels like a dream that between Sinners, Frankenstein and Weapons, the horror genre took home 8 Oscars. Would’ve liked to have seen a couple more for Sinners. Even so, what a night.

A big takeaway this year has to be that Sinners and One Battle After Another were big, artist driven, swings bankrolled by WB whose future is ultimately unclear. I like living in a world where people like PTA and Ryan Coogler get to make the films they want to make with those resources.
