Unsolicited writing advice, no. 1837: Starting to write is like starting to run. It helps to get into a routine. Little and often is easier than trying to do hours at once, and small, manageable goals are easier to achieve - and therefore more motivating - than trying to imagine the finished work.

Can’t believe this needs to be said but… downloading ebooks illegally is theft. It’s an author’s livelihood & a lot of authors don’t make much to begin with. There are libraries & authors willing to give free copies if you really can’t afford it. Don’t steal from artists😫.

I usually have two books on the go at any one time. An "upstairs book" on my kindle, that I read at bedtime. Currently Rowan Coleman's A Home for Broken Hearts. And a "downstairs book" - often non-fiction. Currently Olaudah Equiano's memoir, as research for a half-written novel. #booksky 💙📚
