Turkey update: He is still there. I have gone in and out the door several times, said hi to him in passing, and he is completely chill about the whole thing. My son has started using him as a weather gauge: "Judging from the turkey's feathers it must be windy out there!"

Well, the turkey has moved along. Guess it just needed a quiet place to roost for a bit. In his honor, here's today's deep-cut deity, Chalchihuihtotolin, Nahuatl for "jeweled turkey." As I understand it, in human form he brings disease, but his nagual, animal form, can bring cleansing. I'll take it!
