There's a lot to expand on in that video, like structural barriers to success in math. But I'm sharing it again anyway.

I read 80% of consumer use of chatbots as "I am ready to chew my own leg off to stop trying to deal with the administrative complexity modern life has inflicted on me," we really are at the "deus ex machina required" stage of Too Much for people managing jobs, families, health, school, lives.

I've said this many times before. The crucial point is actually to understand why 0.99999... refers at all. Before that conversation, an algebraic proof is actually obfuscatory. As a diagnostic, ask yourself: does ...99999 = x = -1? After all, x - 10x = 9.

Look, I'm an Xennial, an elder millennial, whatever; so my understanding of the word "based" comes from how it is used in context. From this I conclude that it is perjorative. "That is so based" is telling me some asshole is up to some assholery (and it's not manic pixie dream fun assholery).
