When words come home: Gaelic, memory and the meaning of care
There are moments when language stops being a tool and becomes a refuge. For me, Gaelic has always been like that. Not simply a language I inherited, but a way of being in the world,

There is, to my mind, no justification for the continued use by the UK Government of X as a platform for official comms. There hasn't been for some time, in fact, but if the latest developments around AI-generated image abuse and CSAM don't change the policy I really don't know what will.

In the 1840s the Galson estate on Lewis was cleared for sheep. Most people were put onto emigration ships to Canada. Finally in 2007 - a community buyout. This commemorative sculpture by Will Maclean & Marian Leven is shortlisted for Marsh Award. If it moves you pls vote.

The C&G report shows that investment in adult education is now 40% less in real-terms vs 2010. That's bad BUT in 2008 the loss of 1.5 million adult learner places in the previous two years prompted a multi-agency campaign. It's a continuing and catastrophic decline.
