Heaven is real. I am outside sitting under a beautiful tree reading a book while kiddo is at swim practice and a friend with a kid on the team just texted because she saw me reading and is getting me coffee. Sometimes the simple beauty of life is astounding.

It is a day off from school. My kid is on a call w/ her friends and they are playing a game pretending to be their fav characters from (redacted) & making up dialogue. I'm in the next room working on a graphic novel for the same IP. I said, "OMG, we are all doing the same thing."

So far my birthday is lovely. Snuggled kiddo with coffee, we walked her to school, I got some writing done, got some PTA work done, and now I get to sit under a beautiful tree and read my book for an hour while kiddo is at swim. Then some wine with a few loved ones.

It is my last day as a 42 year old & I am spending 6 hours at the science center with my Girl Scouts. They are having a ball and giggling and learning and telling me all about school. I wouldn’t have it any other way!

The Buena Vista Library is hosting the FREE to attend Burbank Book Festival tomorrow! The children’s books & graphic novel signing happens from 10am-11am so if you have little ones come by in the morning! I will be there signing Teen Titans Go! On TV (and any other comics)

I’ve been over stressed and over busy the last couple weeks and the way you can tell is that I started making homemade pop tart style pastries from scratch at 5am. My coping strategies are questionable

In case other PTA presidents/families are trying to figure out how to fill the SNAP gap … we got a big rubber weather proof container we are leaving OUTSIDE the school for easy 24/7 access and anyone is free to take food as needed, then weekly taking leftovers to the food bank
