Crap news re Sheffield Wednesday. Lower league football clubs being at the mercy of the happen to be wealthy happening to fancy themselves a bit of club ownership will always be an incoherent and unjust system for institutions that gather all meaning from local community.

Tactical voting to keep out Reform will be a big thing at the next election and I have to say Your Party are going to make it a whole load more complicated. But something about NATO makes it absolutely vital apparently.

The huge amount of the argument that holds Labour's vote up is that they are the only option available. If polls and election results keep going this way there will be a tipping point where this argument evaporates and so does the party.

The Labour government tried to throw British Muslims and West Midlands police under the bus to try and protect Israel from some bad PR. Astonishing.

We've gone from "legitimate concerns about the pace of change in communities" to this absolutely chilling juncture in the space of ten years. The trajectory of norm erosion, and the consequences of that for minorities, were entirely predictable. So where will we be in a decade's time?

Standing with Maccabi’s football hooligans against local police – is that what patriotism looks like now? | Jonathan Liew
Tommy Robinson is said to be going to Villa Park as a Maccabi Tel Aviv fan. Do the politicians jumping on this bandwagon care what they are doing, asks Guardian columnist Jonathan Liew

There is clear, unquestionable evidence that huge numbers of Maccabi Tel Aviv fans are racist, provocative and hostile toward Arabs and muslims. That there are thousands of anti-semitic Brummies waiting for the opportunity to attack anyone Jewish is an huge assumption based on demographics.

A lotta stuff seems to have happened „just like that” in the

We might ask how the centre and right uniting to defeat the anti-racist left - by screaming accusations at them about their supposedly Hitlerian racial hate - has somehow become a consensus of centre and right xenophobia and racist incitement, with unified support for genocide and ethnic cleansing.

It is utterly, despicably bereft that the rolling news all day today has been the British Monoparty Establishment's dedication to uphold the rights of openly fascist football hooligans with a track record of violence. Further evidence of a governing class with zero moral legitimacy in our world.

Given the manner in which football hooligans have historically been natural canon fodder for universal 'neanderthal' and 'pond life' contempt, there's something surreal and jarringly transparent about the media and government's coddling the grouping when it comes to racist Israelis.

No matter what, climate change is going to remain the the biggest issue this century. Having to deal with fascism and the centrist capitulation to it is a distraction, and in many ways a deliberate one. Green politics has to be a major force from here on out.

What is the point of building new homes, if they are: a) too expensive for people to live in, and b) don't have essential services like a GP surgery or a school nearby? Very concerning that the Housing Secretary doesn't seem to understand that... or doesn't care.

On the 6th of October Israel had about 5,000 Palestinian prisoners. Today, *after the exchange* Israel holds at least 9,000 prisoners, most of them have not been charged. Conditions in prisons became intolerable after Oct 7. Torture and starvation are standard.
