Noirvember marches on at IMMORTAL SCIENCE with a look at 1947's NIGHTMARE ALLEY, a film I find superior to the Del Toro remake on the strength of its eerie vibe, a breakout role for Tyrone Power, and a troika of stunning performances by its three hypnotic (and tragic) female leads.

Hey, so! The Starbucks strike? Great! Everyone posting about how they support the strike? Great! Everyone saying they won't break the picket line? Super great! Everyone talking about donating to a strike fund or doing solidarity strikes or walking the pickets with workers? Amazingly great! BUT.

BREAKING: Starbucks workers have just authorized a massive strike. Union Starbucks baristas voted to authorize the strike by 92%. Now baristas in over 25 cities could launch an unfair labor practice strike on Thursday, November 13th.
